Congratulations to Karingal Training

The Department of Education has just released the Approved Provider List for Training and Assessment Qualifications (TAE).

Effective immediately, out of the 438 VTG funded Registered Training Organisations (RTO) in Victoria, Karingal Training is one of only 17 providers that can now deliver Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to students under the Victorian Training Guarantee. In addition, Karingal Training is the only Learn Local RTO to be approved and one of only two RTOs outside of TAFE/Universtity across the State.

Building community inclusion

Five Karingal clients have seized the opportunity to soak up new experiences as part of the Community Inclusion Initiative.

The National Disability Services project was commissioned by the National Disability Insurance Agency. It saw five Karingal clients and their families step outside the square and try something new. By doing so, they co-designed innovative ways to build community inclusion.

Eastern Hub Geelong at the heart of the community

Karingal Training helps Heidi get her mojo back

When Heidi Wisken presented to her doctor with rapid weight loss, vomiting and no energy, she said her "mojo had got up and gone". After 18 months of numerous assessments and tests, Heidi was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and then depression.

In May 2015 Heidi commenced a Certificate I Work Education course with Karingal Training in the hope of returning to work.

Karingal and St Laurence possible merger

On Thursday March 10th the Karingal and St Laurence Boards announced a possible merger of the two organisations.

The Boards of both organisations have unanimously supported this proposed merger and have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). 

Over the next two months due diligence  processes will be done by both organisations.

Media release: Karingal thinks outside the box to maximise independence

An Australian-first workshop which designed and created assistive technology products for people with a disability has laid the foundations for more innovation in the Barwon region.

Karingal teamed up with AbilityMate for an innovation session on February 22 and 23, empowering six people with a disability to design products that would enhance their independence. AbilityMate manufactured the products using 3D printers and basic materials including plastic.
