Another year of progress

Barwarre Gardens launches stage 4

Stage 4 of Karingal's Barwarre Gardens Retirement Village was released to the public at an Open Day on Saturday 10 October.  The day was to coincide with the celebrating community theme of this year's Seniors Festival.

Members of the public enjoyed a free BBQ, Devonshire Tea and entertainment while strolling through the display homes and the impressive community centre that was opened last year.

Karingal supports GROW initiative

Community organisations, politicians and business leaders gathered at Karingal Kommercial to promote a new initiative which addresses community disadvantage in the G21 region.

Karingal was one of 19 organisations that signed the G21 Region Opportunities for Work (GROW) agreement which committed them to integrate the GROW philosophy into their own company's values and daily operations.

Golfers prepare for Hundred Hole Hike

Executive Director of Strategy and Partnerships Michael Wasley will join Karingal Participate's Rod Baer at Barwon Heads 13thBeach Golf Links on 22 January for the Hundred Hole Hike.

The popular golf event helps the Karingal Foundation raise funds for the Eastern Hub (formerly Eastern Geelong Community Centre) and the ABI Club House programs.

Karingal Training awarded additional funding to support learners

Karingal Training has been awarded 21,572 training hours from ACFE (Adult, Community and Further Education) for 2016.  The hours amount to over $176,000 in funding which is a 58% increase on 2015 funded hours.

A dream come true for Drisana

For Drisana Thornhill, it was incredibly important that she move into a new home with her dog Roxy, before she loses more of her vision.

Karingal's new shared living home in Marshall officially opened on Thursday 22 October, with Drisana one of seven people who now calls this house their home.
